CADAQUÉS:
Beautiful village on the Costa Brava. It was a source of inspiration for several artists such as Picasso and Dalí. A former fishing village, it preserves its traditional architecture with small white houses and streets with slate pebbles. The visit reveals the Call street, the gate of the wall and the church of Santa Maria with its magnificent baroque altarpiece. As well as its dark pebble beaches.
ROSES:
Its origins date back to the 8th century BC, with the arrival of the Greeks and the foundation of the Greek city of Rodes. Roses is a town with a Mediterranean essence and a great seafaring tradition.
Highlights are the seaport and the citadel. The citadel is a military fortification and inside it are preserved vestiges of various cultures: Greek, Roman and medieval.
Instead of Roses, we can visit:
SANT PERE DE RODES:
The former Benedictine monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes is a Romanesque jewel. Between the 11th and 14th centuries it was the spiritual centre of the county of Empúries and its splendour can be seen in the sheer size of the monastic complex. It comprises the church, the fortified towers, the two cloisters, the monks' quarters, the crypt, the cellar and the abbot's palace.
